Explorers from Shackleton ESU enjoyed an energetic evening at Hazelwick School on Monday, swapping the usual meeting hall activities for some friendly competition on the badminton courts and table tennis tables.
The evening was split between badminton and table tennis, giving everyone the chance to test their skills, learn new techniques, and take part in plenty of fast-paced matches. With multiple courts and tables available, Explorers were able to keep active throughout the session, challenging friends in singles and doubles games while improving their coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The badminton courts were busy all evening, with rallies becoming increasingly competitive as confidence grew. From powerful smashes to impressive saves, there were plenty of exciting moments as Explorers put their reactions and agility to the test.
Meanwhile, the table tennis hall saw a constant stream of matches, with Explorers rotating between tables and taking on different opponents. There were some close contests, plenty of laughter, and more than a few spectacular shots as players battled for bragging rights.
Activities like these are a great reminder that Scouting isn’t just about camps and expeditions. It’s also about staying active, trying new things, building friendships, and having fun together. The evening provided a fantastic opportunity for Explorers to challenge themselves, encourage one another, and enjoy some healthy competition.
