Pancake Cooking Competition

Last week, the explorers competed to be named the best pancake chef. With a minimal budget, they had to plan and purchase a topping which would be voted most highly by the other teams. The results were varied and scores ranged from 1 to 9 (out of 10) – some teams certainly need more practise!

Badminton

Chief Scout Gold and Platinum Awards

All of the leaders were incredibly proud of how engaged and mature the young people were during the informative evening. We also invested 2 new members to join the unit, welcome Mirjam and Ben. We also had the pleasure of presenting 3 chief scout gold awards and a chief scout platinum award. The CSA Gold is the highest award a Scout can earn. Lazer Tag

Tonight Shackleton Explorers celebrated the end of term with a trip to Lazer World where they battled out 3 different games. Red 10 was frequently the best scoring player so I expect there may have been some cheating going on! Time for a relaxing Christmas break, we will see you all in the new year.

Phil’s Cooking Challenge

This evening, the explorers took part in a cooking challenge to create the best tomato soup and toasted cheese sandwich. As easy it should have been, after multiple fire alarms, much burnt toast, each team presented their creation. The results were variable but at least it was all edible!

Jamboree Led Evening

Last Monday (28th), Joe, Tom and Leo who are off to Korea next year led the evening. They gave a short presentation about the jamboree, led a jamboree quiz, taught some basic phrases and led a couple of Korean themed games. All in all, a very educational evening!
