Shackleton ESU took part in Monopoly Run Live 2026 yesterday, joining thousands of Scouts and Explorers across London for a full day of navigation, strategy, and teamwork. Five Shackleton teams: The Grizzly Androids, Earthquake, Bootle, Ammer, and Boston competed across different game boards, visiting real‑world Monopoly locations, completing challenges, and answering themed quiz questions to earn points. Kandersteg Fundraising Disco

Last weekend, Shackleton ESU hosted a fantastic Squirrel, Beaver and Cub Fundraising Disco at 4th Worth – and what an afternoon it was! From the 23rd to the 26th of August, fourteen determined explorers from Shackleton ESU embarked on an unforgettable adventure through the stunning yet challenging landscapes of the Brecon Beacons. This Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition saw one team of seven successfully complete their qualifying expedition, while another team of seven undertook their practice expedition – both demonstrating resilience, skill, and exceptional team spirit. Shackleton ESU held an incredible fundraising quiz night last night to support our upcoming 2026 expedition to Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland. This weekend, a spirited team of seven intrepid explorers from Shackleton Explorer Scout Unit set off on their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award Expedition across the beautiful Ashdown Forest, with an overnight stay at the ever-popular Broadstone Warren. Over the last three days, six explorers from Shackleton ESU successfully completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award practice expedition in the New Forest. The team camped at Braggers Wood and Wilverley Scout Campsite, covering a challenging route through woodland and open heath. From the 18th to the 21st of April 2025, 17 Shackleton Explorers took part in an unforgettable mountain activity camp based at the Cornel Scout Campsite bunkhouse in the heart of Snowdonia. With kit bags unpacked and bunk beds claimed, the team settled into a weekend packed with challenge, adventure, and unforgettable memories.
